Want to audition?

Auditions for season 1 are currently open from March 1 - June 1st 2025.

Please make sure to read all the requirements before submitting an audition.

  • This is currently an unpaid project (as funding becomes available all actors/artists will be back paid/compensated)

  • You must be at least 18+ to audition

  • You do not need any prior voice acting experience (casting choices will not be influenced by experience or lack of)

  • All recording will be done remotely, so please have access to a good mic/recording set up.

how to record & submit

I don't have specific voice types in mind for any of the characters so if you're concerned about your voice being "too fem" or "too masc", having an accent, etc., don't be! This is a very diverse world and I'd like it to be reflective in the voices being cast. I'm also aiming to uplift BIPOC and other marginalized voices. These VAs will be given priority.

I'd like for at least one take to have the script read as-written, but feel free to improvise and lean into the character(s) you're auditioning for.

Each character appears in one centric episode (each with a potential to return for more). There is always a dialogue portion with character interactions and a story portion where (as the name implies) the character is telling a story.

  • The dialogue portion is exactly as the name implies. It's part of the story where the characters are interacting with other characters/ the world around them.

  • The story portions draw inspirations from podcasts like Old Gods of Appalachia, The Magnus Archives/Protocol, Welcome to Night Vale, etc. However, I'd like to see your own spin on it. This is a world where humanity has very much gone back to it's storytelling roots where the medium of word-of-mouth is the most dominant form of communication.

What happens if I don’t get cast?

If you don't get cast in this season, don't worry. There are more seasons to come and you may end up getting cast in a future episode.

Will Ai be used in this podcast?

Absolutely NOT! Leftovers at the End of the World DOES NOT support the use of AI for voice work, music creation, art, etc. and will NOT be used in the creation/production of this podcast series.

When will I hear back about my audition?

It takes time to go through auditions, so don’t fret if you don’t hear back from us right away. Regardless of whether or not you landed a role, we’ll reach out to you as soon as we can. If you’re unsure, feel free to email us!
